"Tree Travelling: A Journey Through Time and Life as a Painter and Weaver"

  • Beauport House Gallery Battle Road Hastings United Kingdom (map)

Fran's artist in residence exhibition, Tree Travelling: A Journey Through Time and Life as a Painter and Weaver, beautifully weaves together themes of nature, heritage, and creative exploration through a stunning collection of paintings and textile works, alongside her sketch books, portfolio and artists book for further insight.

Fran’s artistic journey toward this exhibition began in October 2023, initially inspired by the Pure Making in May Instagram challenge. A pivotal moment in its evolution came in April 2024 when Fran joined the EYES (Exploring Your Expressive Self) course with artist-teacher Debs Last, which enabled her to refine her artistic vision.

The culmination of 18 months creative exploration and endeavour is a deeply personal and evocative solo exhibition that celebrates Fran’s creative journey. Through her paintings, woven textiles, and mixed-media works, visitors will witness a rich tapestry of artistic evolution shaped by nature’s inspiration.

The exhibition also feature’s Fran’s sketch books, portfolio and printed artist’s book, providing deeper insights into her process, practice and life.

Gentle Sewing Days – A Space for Reflection and Creativity

As part of her residency, Fran will host a series of Gentle Sewing Days—intimate, mindful stitching sessions where visitors can immerse themselves in the slow, meditative process of hand sewing, reflecting on the themes of nature, growth, and time.

Gentle Sewing Days: 7, 21 & 22 May between 10am - 4pm

This is a unique opportunity to experience Fran’s evolving exhibition in a relaxed setting, while engaging in gentle, contemplative making.

No booking required.
